Department of Humanities
The Department of Humanities is involved in research and teaching. It offers UG degrees in various disciplines such as languages, literature, history, economics etc. and higher degree programmes leading to the award of Masters and Doctoral degrees.
With qualified faculty members working in and across the disciplines of History, Language, Literature, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology and Public Administration, the Department of Humanities runs the new student-centric CBCS curriculum and offers over thirty elective courses -on an average, per semester- for students across disciplines and degree programmes. The laboratories for languages, and Creative Media along with a rich collection of materials in the CSMU Library are vital elements in the pedagogy of the courses taught here. Many of these are interdisciplinary, and all courses combine rigor with variety in both teaching and learning.
