Orientation Program, 2019

6th August

The orientation of CSMU, 2019 was dedicated to the new academic session, 2019-20 started on 6thAugust at the sprawling campus of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University, Panvel, Navi Mumbai.

The celebration was attended by the Registrar, Dr R.P Sharma, Dean Student Welfare Dr C K Singh, Deans of various departments and other distinguished dignitaries.

The inaugural session of the orientation programme started with the opening remarks by Prof (Dr) C K Singh, Dean & DSW of CSMU.


Fresher's Day, 2019

25th Septemeber

The students of CSMU celebrated "Fresher's Day" on 25th Septemebr,2019 with enthusiasm and organized a cultural programme. Ms. Preeti Paidi of B.Tech.(Civil) first year was adjudged as "Miss fresher" where as Mr Shrajal Shrivastva a student of B.Sc. Bioinformatics was declared as "Mr fresher" for the year 2019.

Earlier the programme commenced with lightening of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana. Dr. Ankur Saxena, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology delivered welcome speech. Mr. Mukesh Soni CEO of Wilfred Education Society was the chief guest on this occasion. He is been felicitated by Dr. R. P. Sharma Registrar & Dean of Faculty of Science.


Pharmacist Day, 2019

25th Septemeber

The students of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University (CSMU) (CSMU) celebrated World Pharmacist Day on 25th Sept. 2019.

The theme for this year's Pharmacist Day was "Safe and Effective Medicines for All". The students of CSMU School of Pharmacy enacted a skit to highlight the key role that pharmacists play in protecting patient safety through improved medicines used and reduce medication errors. Dr. C.K .Singh, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Communication, Dr. Mohsin Hasan, Dean, School of Pharmacy, Ms Esther Alwin, HR Director, Mr.Vitthal Mahadev Dhumal, Head of marketing, HOD's faculty & staff members along with over two hundred students of CSMU participated in a day-long event. The events were held at G.D. Badaya Memorial Auditorium. In a valedictory speech "Vote of Thanks" was given by Dr. R. P. Sharma Registrar & Dean of Faculty of Science.


Shivaji Mahraj Jayanti,2020

19 February

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University (CSMU) Panvel, Navi Mumbai celebrated "Shivaji Maharaj Jyanti" on 19th,February,2020 at its campus.

Dr.Anirudh Sakhare, HOD, Department of Humanity, Arts and Commerce while welcomed the students and Prof. Rakesh Junarkar, Department of Engineering and Technology enlightened about his contribution of first Chhatrapati and founder of the Maratha Empire.

Prof. A.K. Sinha Vice-Chancellor, CSMU while addressing the students remembered his vital role during India's freedom struggle. The entire event was celebrated as a festival with various activities in order to create awareness in the young minds regarding the valiant Maratha warrior, Shivaji Maharaj.

The program concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Dean of Science Prof. R.P. Sharma who has thanked the organizers, all the team members, students for their active participation.


Workshop, 2019

24th of January

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University (CSMU) organized a day long workshop on "Ill effects of Raging" on 24th of January, 2020. The students of the University performed a skit depicting "Ill effects of Ragging".

Professor (Dr) A K Sinha Vice-Chancellor CSMU while delivering his address emphasized on the importance of ragging free campus and cordial relationship between junior and senior students. The campus is a place for inculcating value based mutual relationship which is everlasting. A poster competition was also organized to highlight "Ill effects of Raging".

Ms Afrin Kazi & Ninad Khot of MBA and Yashwini Manglurkar & Samiksha Mhatre were adjudged as the winner of the competition. Ms Atiya Shaikh & Ms Shruti Joshi and Ms Namrata Singh were declared first and second runner-up respectively.

The workshop was organized by Students Welfare Committee of the University under the overall guidance of Dr C K Singh Dean Faculty of Arts & Communication and Dr Mohsin Hasan Dean CSMU School of Pharmacy


Sports Meet Aarambh,2020

25th - 27th, Feb

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University (CSMU) conducted "AARAMBH 2020", a 3-day Sports Meet held from 25th to 27th, Feb 2020. The objective of the event was to provide students an opportunity to showcase their talent and contribute towards the KHELO INDIA theme. Apart from CSMU, over 300 students from Pillai College Panvel, D Y Patil Kharghar, CKT college Panvel, Vishvaniketan college Pen, St. Wilfred Arts, Science and Commerce,...... participated in various sports fixtures viz; Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Dodge Ball, Carom and Chess in this 3-day meet.

The Sports Meet was declared open on 25th Feb. 2020 by Prof (Dr) A K Sinha Vice-Chancellor of CSMU. Dr R P Sharma, Registrar, Dr C K Singh, Dean Faculty of Arts, Humanities & Communication, Dr Mohsin Hasan Dean CSMU School of Pharmacy and other Deans of various faculties, HODs and faculty members witnessed this colourfull ceremony. The students and faculty members cheered loudly the moment Vice-Chancellor hit a ball while declaring this sports meet open.

Vishwaniketan College Cricket Team was adjudged as the overall champion and awarded a Trophy and a Cash Prize. All the participants and winning teams were awarded Trophies and Certificates in a glittering ceremony held on 28th February, 2020 coinciding with science day celebrations.


National Science Day,2020

28 February

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University (CSMU) Panvel, Navi Mumbai celebrated 'National Science Day' to commemorate C.V. Raman's confirmation of the discovery of the 'Raman Effect' on 28th February in 1928 at its campus.

The theme of this year's was "WOMEN IN SCIENCE"

The program was organized by the Faculty of Science which includes School Quiz (in which various schools from Navi Mumbai & Raigadh districts participated. Dr.Kalpana Dabhade, HOD, Department of Biotechnology, while welcomed the students and Dr Soni Pathak HOD, Department of Mathematics enlightened about the importance of science day and why it is celebrated in India.

Prof. A.K. Sinha Vice-Chancellor, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University (CSMU) while addressing the students said, "on the emphasis of science and technology for our present generation and motivated our students for better research while applying innovative ides". The entire event provided a platform to the students to prove their talents, bring out their creativity and face the challenges and overcome their weaknesses.

The program concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Dean of Science Prof. R.P. Sharma who has thanked the organizers, all the team members, students for their active participation, his gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for his graceful presence patience throughout the program.
