Studying abroad is likely to be an exciting, enriching and fulfilling experience. But initially at least, it may also feel daunting and at times overwhelming. New international students have to adapt to a new place, new culture and perhaps a new language, all at the same time. We know how difficult it is to leave home and come to a foreign land- keeping this in mind we at CSMU provide special services to our international students in both our conveyance and accommodation departments. Office of International Relations has dedicated staffs committed to the needs of international students. We provide guidance to international student’s right from their arrival in the institute in matters of their cultural, legal and academic needs and other issues of relevance. CSMU International office has dedicated officers to serve the needs of International student’s welfare. They serve as the first point of contact for all international students and all their queries are answered .They are always available for the students to facilitate their pick up from the airport to their stay, logistics, their mandatory registration, visa verification, police information, etc. The goal of International Relation office is to enhance internationalisation at CSMU. It is the central contact point for international students and researchers – before, during and after their study at CSMU. It also supports domestic students and researchers from CSMU with all questions concerning international mobility. It coordinates international partnerships and develops programs with partner universities.

Step 1: Application

  • Prospective students will download the application form for International students. Duly filled and signed forms are to be scanned and sent to the Foreign Students' Cell (FSC) office email [email protected] along with scanned self-attested copy of all required documents as listed in the application form.
  • After reviewing the documents for prerequisite, The FSC may notify the students asking them to pay the requisite application fee online or by bank transfer.

Step 2: Document verification and equivalence.

  • International admissions are done based on the score of qualifying examination/ personal interview or entrance test conducted by the University (online CSMU Entrance Examination (CSMUEE2020) for admission in technical and professional programmes).
  • CSMU is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and follow its guidelines on equivalence of the standard examinations carried out worldwide.
  • Please see the list of foreign examinations recognized by AIU as equivalent to10th standard or 10+2 stage qualification of an Indian Board giving access to the Bachelor Degree programme at Indian Universities, including Professional Programmes.
  • The student will obtain equivalence certificate from AIU (www.aiu.ac.in) by creating a login account in AIU and uploading all their marksheets and certificates to the AIU portal.
  • For admission in any programme other than a graduate or postgraduate English Language programme, The student shall have obtained a minimum score in a standard English Language Proficiency Test such as ILTES or TOEFL. The minimum score considered is as decided by the University for the respective programme of admission. If the score is not obtained by the student prior to join the University, the student must take up add-on courses provided by the University and appear in the Test to obtain the necessary course within one academic year after admission.
  • After verification of documents online, and taking into account of the score of the student in the qualifying examination/ CSMUEE2020 score/ personal interview score, the University will shortlist the student for provisional admission and will notify the student to pay the requisite fee for registration and annual programme fee through online portal/bank transfer.
  • All original documents are to be verified at the University upon arrival of the student.
  • The Foreign Students' Cell office, at any time, can request further documentations from the student to facilitate a smooth admission process.

Step 3: Admission and Relocation

  • Subsequent to verification of all required documents and receipt of fees, the University will send admission letter to the student and all other documents required to obtain travel documents such as student visa etc.
  • The student must have the original certificate/ final marksheet and its legal translation in English of the qualifying examination notarized by the embassy / consulate of India.
  • The student needs to obtain a medical fitness certificate from a medical practitioner certifying that the student does not have any communicable disease (particularly Tuberculosis and HIV).
  • The FSC will forward the list of foreign/NRI students admitted along with the required documents to the relevant ministries of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MOHFW), Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India (GOI) to obtain the ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) for the students.
  • The student will be given an email ID of the University web domain to access online course structure, time table, course material etc. and to send/receive various communications.
  • Subsequent to obtaining of student visa and all other necessary travel documents, the FSC will notify the student to initiate relocation to CSMU and will keep continuous communication with the student through the relocation process and will provide assistance as and when necessary.
  • Upon arrival of the student at the University, the FSC will assist the student to obtain all necessary residence documents required by the FRRO, Govt. of India.

  • All foreign nationals admitted at CSMU must possess a Student Visa to pursue their studies.
  • A foreign national who has confirmed admission and has paid the first-year course fee will be issued the Confirmed Admission letter by the University. With this letter, the student can apply for a Student Visa in the Indian Consulate / Embassy.
  • Students’ should apply for a Student Visa that is valid for more than 180 days in the Indian Consulate / Embassy located in their respective countries. The student must submit the confirmed admission letter and the medical fitness certificate along with all other necessary document with the visa application to obtain a student visa. More information on the visa application process can be found in the website of the Embassy of India in the respective country.
  • Students, will have to register online with the Foreigner’s Registration Office (www.indianfrro.gov.in) within 14 days of their arrival in India.
  • The students of CSMU fall in the jurisdiction of the FRO office at the Office of the Commissioner of Police (CP), Navi Mumbai, located in Belapur, Navi Mumbai. The CSMU FSC office will assist the students in getting their registration done.
  • Once registered, the students will be issued a Registration Certificate (RC) and Registration Permit (RP) to his / her email address.
  • A copy of the RC and RP will have to be submitted to the FSC Office.

Note:-

  • Student will have to carry a copy of the RC/ RP at all time while travelling in India as well as produce it to the Immigration Counter in the port of journey (airport) every time they return to their country.
  • If the Student Visa expires during their study, students will have to apply for extension of their student visa online (www.indianfrro.gov.in) at least 60 days prior to its expiry. The RC and RP are also to be renewed online a-prior expiry or if a new student visa is obtained.
  • Foreign Citizens of Indian origin with a People of India (PIO) Card or an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) are permitted to study in India without a Student Visa and need NOT register with the FRO.

Checklist for Registration Formalities at FRRO
All foreigners visiting India, who have visas for a period exceeding 6 months duration, are required to get themselves registered within 14 days of their arrival, at the nearest office of the FRRO. Those who have PIO cards or OCI are exempt from the registration requirement.
A list of the type of documents that are generally required is provided here:

  • Original passport on which visa is endorsed.
  • Photocopy of the passport and initial visa.
  • Four photographs of the applicant.
  • Details of residence in India.
  • Those who are visiting India on a long-term visa of more than one year and are in the age group of 15 to 60 years. Require a HIV test report, from one of the WHO recognized Institutions.
  • Copy of the marriage certificate, in case of those seeking extension of stay on grounds of being the spouse of an Indian national.
  • Certificate from the University, College, or Institution in case of Student visa.
  • All Foreign / NRI students will be required to register themselves with the concerned District Foreigners Registration Officer / Foreigners Regional Registration Officers, within 14 days of your first arrival in India.
  • Bona-fide Certificate issued by the University
  • Foreigners coming from or through yellow fever countries must come with valid vaccination certificate.

Mumbai has a mild tropical climate. Mumbai's climate can be best described as moderately hot with high level of humidity. Its coastal nature and tropical location ensure temperatures do not fluctuate much throughout the year. January is the coolest month of the year for Mumbai with mean daily minimum being 16 °C and mean daily maximum being 31 °C. May is the hottest month of the year for Mumbai with the cool sea breezes providing some relief. June marks the beginning of the monsoon period in Mumbai with July being the wettest.

  • After reaching Mumbai student will report in the International Division of CSMU along with all the required documents.
  • Students will fill the registration form and submit the required documents .The documents will be checked and verified and if required student will be advised to obtain Equivalence Certificate from our Registrar office or Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • It is a mandatory for all International students except those from Nepal and Bhutan to get their Student Visa registered at FRRO/FRO Mumbai within 14 days of arrival in India. University will guide and assist Student with all the required processes.
  • Students joining the university after the prescribed time period may be denied admission.
  • It is the prime responsibility of the student to visit International Relations Department in time to complete the required documentations, so that no fine is levied against him/her.
  • Foreign student must have fill C form and submitted with in 24 hrs in FRRO Mumbai. (C Form is designed for collecting prerequisite information of foreigner guest whose accommodation is made in hotel. This is indeed requirements for security points of view. Its one copy must be submitted at the FRRO (foreign regional registration office). Basically this helps you in identifying legal arrival of foreigner guest about whom you keep information through this facility.)

The International students should abide by all the rules of CSMU and the code of conduct as applicable to Indian students enrolled in the same courses.

The procedure for examination, payment of examination fees, issue of mark list, issue of passing certificates and award of degrees will be same as for the Indian students doing the same courses.
