His teaching areas include journalism (reporting, editing, and news writing), communication theory, advertising, public relations, media ethics and law, development communication, media management, research methodology, cultural and media studies, along with advanced courses in broadcast media and new media.

On the practical front, he has extensive experience teaching and mentoring students in filmmaking, television production, photography, video editing, radio production, print media, social media, and digital content creation. At CSMU, he also serves as a Ph.D. co-guide, Department Training and Placement Officer, and is responsible for the management of the television studio, contributing actively to academic administration and skill-based training.

Prior to his current position, Dr. Pawar worked as a Lecturer at Loyola Academy Degree and PG College, Hyderabad, where he taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses in news reporting, online journalism, corporate communication, development communication, film studies, media laws and ethics, history of media, communication research, and methods. He played a key role in designing syllabi under the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) and contributed to the design of the MA (Journalism and Mass Communication) curriculum introduced in 2015. He also supervised undergraduate dissertations and documentary projects and was actively involved in organizing academic and cultural events, including INFOCUS, a national-level film festival, and Lenzcape, an inter-college photography festival.

Dr. Pawar has also served as an Assistant Professor at St. Joseph’s Degree and PG College, Hyderabad, where he taught media management, electronic media, online journalism, corporate communication, and print media practicals. He was actively involved in institutional responsibilities, including handling finance and publicity committees, event publicity, and serving as a class teacher for postgraduate students. He also contributed to the organization and promotion of the Cinevolution Film Festival.

His professional media experience includes working as a Sub-Editor at The Hans India (associated with HMTV Telugu News Channel), where he edited content and designed pages for print publication. He also worked as an Assistant to Program Producer at All India Radio (Akashvani), contributing to the recording and editing of folk programmes for broadcast.

Dr. Pawar has a strong research orientation with publications in UGC-referred and peer-reviewed journals and edited books. His research contributions focus on visual storytelling, ageing and cinema, colour theory in film, digital narratives, immersive media, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and media representation of senior citizens. He has authored and co-authored journal articles and book chapters, including works on Bollywood horror narratives, cinematic colour symbolism, immersive storytelling technologies, and media coverage of senior citizens’ rights.

He has presented research papers at national and international conferences and UGC-sponsored seminars, addressing themes such as visual storytelling in Bollywood cinema, media and human rights, rural and tribal development, and digital media content analysis. His interdisciplinary research approach bridges media studies, sociology, development communication, and digital technologies.

Dr. Pawar has also contributed to funded and academic research projects, including work as a Project Assistant under a Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) project on social networking sites and psycho-social behaviour. Additionally, he has undertaken independent research studies on messaging applications and social relations as part of his postgraduate academic work.

Dr. Sanjay Kumar Singh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University, Navi Mumbai, with over 30 years of professional experience in journalism, filmmaking, and media education. Prof. (Dr.) Ruchi Goswami is a distinguished academician, media professional, and strategic communicator with nearly twenty-five years of extensive experience in teaching, research, and mainstream media practice. She holds a Ph.D. in Journalism and Mass Communication, along with an M.A. in Journalism & Mass Communication, an M.A. in English Literature, a B.J.M.C., and a (Hons.) in English, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education (PGDHE). A Visharad in Vocal Music, she represents a rare confluence of scholarly excellence and artistic sensibility.

Currently serving as Professor and Head, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University, Navi Mumbai, Dr. Goswami has previously contributed over two decades of dedicated academic and administrative leadership to The IIS (Deemed to be University), Jaipur.
