He holds a Ph.D. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University College of Arts and Social Sciences, Osmania University, Hyderabad. His doctoral research, completed in 2024, is titled “Ageing and Film: Representation of Older Characters in Hindi Commercial Cinema.”

Dr. Pawar is a UGC-NET Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) awardee (2018) and has also qualified UGC-NET (2017) and TS/AP State Eligibility Test (2015), making him eligible for lectureship across India. He possesses a strong academic foundation supported by professional media experience and interdisciplinary research exposure.
