Department of Life Sciences and Biotechnology at CSMU attracts the most talented students of India for its UG , PG and Research programmes. Our vision is to develop technically qualified, skilled, and competent human resource through excellent teaching and hands-on training to cater to talent requirements in Biotech, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics and Pharmacy industries. The department has faculties from different backgrounds of Life Sciences offering a wide research, training, and teaching experience. It is engaged in several research projects funded by different Government of India funding organizations like DST, DBT, MHRD, SERB etc.

The syllabus of B.Sc and M.Sc programmes covers the latest information available and technical innovations in the respective majors and related subjects. The curriculum is designed based on current needs of the industries and various Research & Development sectors, so that employability can be improved. We encourage and emphasize student research activities through add on programmes and minor research projects.

Laboratories

Department of Life Sciences and Biotechnology has well equipped laboratories such as Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Recombinant DNA Technology, Bioinformatics, Microbiology and Sterilization facility etc. for students and research scholars. These laboratories have approvals from different regulatory agencies as per the requirements like DBT, Government of India Approved Institutional Bio-safety Committee.
